STRATEGIC ADVISORY FOR CREATIVE AND COMMUNICATIONS AGENCIES
Protect the value of growth.
Your right hand for the people, capability and delivery decisions that keep an agency valuable.
SCROLL TO EXPLORE
The context
The market has changed. The internal model has to catch up.
When client spending is cautious, every hour, hire and relationship has to work harder.
That puts pressure on more than the bottom line. It changes the decisions agencies have to make about people, ways of working and the quality of the work itself.
Margin pressure
There is less room for avoidable rework, drift and senior firefighting.
Talent churn
Continuity, development and knowledge transfer are commercial issues.
AI disruption
The question is what human judgement the agency needs next.
Creative quality
Strategic thinking and originality do not happen by accident.

Capability
Build an internal model that can keep up
Design the roles, rhythms and ownership that help good people do their best work as the agency evolves.
Delivery
Protect the quality of the work
Bring sharper thinking to the decisions that keep delivery focused, commercially sound and creatively ambitious.
Why me
Experience that sees the whole picture.
I bring an agency-side view of the decisions that sit behind sustainable growth: people, capability, commercial reality and the quality of the work.
That means I can move between the strategic question and the practical detail. I understand the pressure of a live client business, the cost of the wrong hire and the difference a clear operating model can make to a team’s confidence.
My role is to give you a thinking partner who is close enough to understand the context, and independent enough to see what may be getting missed.

Meet Laura
Nearly 20 years in agencies. Still fascinated by what makes them work.
I’m Laura, founder of Above the Noise. I bring an agency-side view to the people, capability and decisions behind sustainable growth.
I’ve spent nearly two decades in communications, working in global networks and independent agencies, leading teams, advising clients and building new capabilities. Along the way I’ve worked across everything from consumer brands and culture to entertainment, technology and corporate reputation.
The bit I’ve always been most interested in is what happens behind the work. How you build the right team, create the conditions for good thinking and make ambitious growth actually work in practice.
That interest eventually took me to Cranfield University, where I completed an MSc in Management and Leadership alongside my agency career. My research looked at employee experience and organisational decision-making, and reinforced something I’d seen repeatedly in agencies: the best answer rarely comes from imposing a model from the outside. It comes from understanding what is happening inside the business.
Above the Noise brings those two sides of my experience together: agency operator and strategic adviser. I work alongside founders and leadership teams as a trusted, independent right-hand when something important needs figuring out.
Agency operator and strategic adviser.
